History
V.Ramakrishna
School was founded by V. Ramakrishna I.C.S., Founder of The KCP
Group in June 1967 at Tiruvottiyur. His vision was to provide education
to bright children of lower income groups through this equal opportunity
school. The institution was started as a Primary School with Telugu as
the medium of instruction, with the motto "Thamasoma Jothirgamaya".
(Lead us from the Darkness of Ignorance Unto the Light of Knowledge) With
continued efforts from the Management and staff, the school up-graded
to Middle School in September 1982 and High School in June 1991. The English
Medium section was also started around this time. In June 2002 the school
started offering Higher Secondary education. The main advantage of this
school is that a child can learn three languages (Telugu, Tamil and Hindi)
and can opt for Telugu or English medium education at the same campus.
Our Objectives
We provide an encouraging
atmosphere for students and function with these objectives:
- To increase student
skills to their highest potential in pursuit of academic and artistic
excellence;
- To provide a caring
school community where students can study and grow;
- To develop high
standards in personal behaviour and interpersonal relationships,
- To prepare students
for life beyond school, for higher education, careers, adulthood and
society.
Our Profile
Currently, our school has 33 qualified teaching staff and five non-teaching
staff for a student body of 720.children. Four committees enhance the
learning environment of students.
Examination Committee: Deals with the administration
of exams, especially X and XII Standard students.
Cultural Committee: Takes care of intra and inter school competitions.
Extra Curricular Activities Committee: Encourages skills and talent
of students outside of academics.
Discipline Committee: Takes care of student conduct.
Students are encouraged to pursue sports, learn yoga, become Scout and
Guide members and provided training to prepare for competitive exams.
Terminal and monthly examinations are conducted as scheduled during the
academic year and Parent Teacher Meetings are conducted soon after the
examinations. The school conducts exhibitions, competitions and medical
camps every year and plans to conduct an Arts and Crafts Camp every year
on November 14, Children's Day. The school actively takes part in community
development. We provide training to people in the school neighbourhood
on income generating activities.
Future Plans
The school plans to
launch an 'Open School' under the National Open School Concept for school
dropouts and others unable to receive regular education. The school plans
to start a full-fledged computer training lab with Internet Access.
